John Morton, USFWS biologist
at the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge, wrote an interesting article on plants and animals named for the Kenai. Our Song Sparrow, the Kenai Song Sparrow, is the smallest
and brownest of the seven subspecies currently recognized in Alaska.
