Seward, Alaska Sporadic Bird Report

Wikipedia characterizes Eeyore, the old gray donkey in Winnie-the-Pooh books, as pessimistic, gloomy, and depressed. This perfectly described the hunched over Great Blue Heron perched forlornly on one leg on the icy piling by the Greenbelt. A blinding snowstorm pummeled the poor bird and the equally stoic GLAUCOUS-WINGED GULLS standing on adjacent pilings, facing into the sullen north wind.

Actually, I'm impressed with its optimism, surviving another Alaskan winter day. Cheers, Eeyore!

Happy Birding!
